The EM Keyboxes on the “EM locking system” refers to Electricity Metering locking hardware that is restricted, master-keyed under Ausgrid’s specifications.
These Keyboxes are used to secure keys for meter boxes, entry gates/enclosures, building entries, meter rooms, commercial or residential cylinders etc. by the Electricity services to gain access.
The system uses Abloy Protec locks (various formats: keyboxes, padlocks, cylinders, etc.).
All new installations (or when replacing damaged/faulty locks) in Ausgrid’s network area that require master keyed locks must use this EM locking system
